April First visit and tour of the newly built Heart Centre in Da Nang by Dr Erich Lejeune and Dr Trong-Phi Lê.
April The screening programme of Da Nang General Hospital is expanded to cover the Highlands and various provinces.
April Talk by Dr Erich Lejeune at the University of Da Nang on the subject of “Motivation and medicine”.
11 April Dr Trong-Phi Lê awarded honorary professorship of the University of Da Nang during a ceremonial event.
November Lecture by Prof. Rüdiger Lange from the German Heart Centre Munich at the University of Da Nang on the subject of “Minimally invasive cardiac surgery”.
16 November Ballet benefit gala with the “Bavarian Junior Ballet Munich” at the Cuvilliés Theatre, Munich. The Bavarian Junior Ballet is a collaboration with the Heinz Bosl Foundation, the Bavarian State Ballet, and the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. The ballet company performed for free.
Proceeds: € 67,565.00.

11 May Symposium and lecture by Prof. Heinrich Netz at the University of Da Nang. Subject: “Electrocardiography”.
26 October 14th general meeting.
November Operation on a young boy (3 years old) from Mongolia at the German Heart Centre Munich.
1 December Benefit concert with the Tölz Boys’ Choir at the Church of St Ursula Schwabing, Munich. German chef Alfons Schuhbeck donated mulled wine, punch and soup following the concert.

2016

January At the opening of the Würmtal Centre in Martinsried, “Leberkäs rolls” supplied by vinzenzmurr butchers were sold in aid of the Foundation.

12 March On the occasion of Prof. Heinrich Netz leaving the University Hospital of Großhadern, Munich, as Director of Paediatric Cardiology and Intensive Care, a patient of many years donated €300.00 to the Foundation as a gesture of appreciation.
June Donations totalling €16,200.00 received on the occasion of Dr Irène Lejeune’s round birthday.
16 September Lecture and workshop by Prof. Heinrich Netz at the University in Ho Chi Minh City.
19 September “Live Case Workshop” in Da Nang, organised by Dr Trong-Phi Lê. With support from the Foundation.
24 November Festive ceremony to celebrate 10 years of the humanitarian work of “Herz für Herz - Stiftung für Leben!” at the General Hospital Da Nang.

29 March Honorary doctor titles awarded at the University of Da Nang to founder and chair of the Board of Trustees, Dr Erich Lejeune, and to Dr Wolfgang Heubisch, former Bavarian State Minister for Science, Research and the Arts.
30 March Second “Heart for Heart Award” presented in a ceremony to Dr Trong-Phi Lê for his generous services to the “Heart for Heart Children’s Heart Unit” in Da Nang.
30 March Grand opening of the new cardiac catheterisation lab at the “Heart for Heart Paediatric Heart Unit” of the General Hospital in Da Nang, supported by Philips Healthcare.
April On the 10th anniversary, Ines Schröder, a young student from Emsland, painted a large “Heart for Heart” picture for the Foundation.
May Bequest of € 7,010.00 to the Foundation.
June CHF 1,511.00 and € 730.00 collected on the occasion of a round birthday.
8 September Every three years, Munich’s Butchers’ Guild celebrates the graduation of its young butchers at the Fishbrunnen fountain on Marienplatz square. During the subsequent festivities at Viktualienmarkt, “Leberkäs” rolls were sold by the Butchers’ Guild and Munich’s vinzenzmurr butchers in aid of the Foundation under the motto, “Leberkäs in aid of the Heart for Heart Foundation for Life”. Proceeds: € 10,000.00.
24 October 10th general meeting: 133 members.
To mark the 10th anniversary of the Foundation, the Board of the Circle of Friends thanked Dr Erich Lejeune for his generous donation of € 500,000.00. This donation facilitated the completion of the second cardiac catheterisation lab in Da Nang.
8 – 10 November On the occasion of the traditional “Fascination Handicraft” arts and crafts exhibition in Geitau near Bayerischzell, funds were raised in aid of the Foundation.
8 December Ballet benefit gala at the National Theatre of the Bavarian State Opera Munich. Performance of the ballet “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”.

27 February – 1 March Academic teacher training at the Medical University in Ho Chi Minh City led by members of the team at LMU Munich, and sponsored by “Heart for Heart – Foundation for Life!”.
5 April Mrs Franziska Blechinger, owner of “Julianne’s Moden” fashion store, organised a tombola on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Brienner quarter.

May/June Visit to LMU Munich by a delegation from the universities of Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. Aside from workshops, there was a visit to Siemens Healthcare in Erlangen.

1 June CD of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, op 125, released by the Bavarian Symphony Orchestra Munich (BSM) and the choir of Munich’s Pestalozzi Grammar School. One euro from every CD goes to “Heart for Heart – Foundation for Life!”.
July To celebrate the birthday of Klaus Lutz, CEO of the BayWa company, Mr & Mrs Lutz and their invited guests raised a total of € 500,000 for the Foundation.
17 July Symposium at the General Hospital in Da Nang, Vietnam, sponsored by the Foundation.

October A young Vietnamese paediatrician from Da Nang spent seven weeks in advanced training with Prof. Heinrich Netz at Großhadern Hospital. The residential stay was funded by the Foundation.

18 February Opera benefit gala in aid of the “Heart for Heart – Foundation for Life!”.

11 July Supported by the Foundation, Ramzia (16 years old) from Afghanistan underwent successful surgery at the German Heart Centre in Munich.
2 August Siemens AG Medical Solutions in Erlangen pledged support for the Foundation’s project in Vietnam with a financial contribution and cardiac catheterisation lab.
14 August The Social Activities Committee of Eurofighter Jagdflugzeuge GmbH raised

6 September Presentation of the book, “The Gourmet Pope – To Serve is my Life” by Gerd Käfer and Dr Erich Lejeune. For every book sold, 50 euro cents go to the Foundation.

14 October Prix International “Pour les Enfants” of the Ordre de Saint Fortunat and the Otto Eckart Foundation in Vienna awarded to Dr. Irène Lejeune. The award, endowed with € 10,000.00, went to the Foundation.
18 October Presentation of the book “I love Rock ’n’ Roll – No time to get old” by Peter Kraus and Dr Erich Lejeune. For each book sold, 50 cents go to the Foundation.

March Online auction organised by watch manufacturer A. Lange & Sons in Glashütte, auctioning a “Lange 1 Honoris Cauca” watch in aid of the Foundation.
8 March Presentation of the Foundation on the occasion of the 22nd Munich Doctor-Patient Forum at the Bayerischer Hof hotel Munich.
5 June Charity golf tournament, St Eurach Golf Club, Iffeldorf, under the motto, “A Heart for Hopeful Hearts”, initiated by Randi and Harry Valérien.
The proceeds were split 50:50 between the “Heart for Heart – Foundation for Life!” and the Ronald McDonald Children’s House, Munich.
5 June Second “SPAR” fun run – “Munich runs for the Heart of a Child”.
21 July As part of an event organised by Kaufmanns Casino Munich, attendees agreed to donate the event fee of € 1,932.00 to the Foundation.
July/August Three children from Vietnam with severe heart defects successfully treated at Großhadern Hospital.
1 September Around € 1,000.00 donated by a happy couple on the occasion of their rose wedding anniversary.

14 November DIFA (Deutsche Immobilien Fonds AG) charity auction at Riem-Arcaden shopping centre. Under the patronage of Lord Mayor Christian Ude, pictures drawn by the children of the Riem Integration Shelter were auctioned in aid of the Foundation.
Proceeds: € 2,230.00.
21 November Second general meeting: 87 members.
22 November A total of € 12.000.00 donated by guests at the birthday celebration for Peter Trautmann, Managing Director of Flughafen München GmbH.
8 December Advent fundraiser in the ballroom of the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl in Munich. Food and beverages donated by Hofbräu and the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl. All musicians and artists performed free of charge.
